After a little sleep in we had a wonderful ‘normal’ breakfast. Departed late for our day’s adventure. When I say late, it was about 9.30am!
Today’s adventure we made our way to Arthur’s Pass. Now that is one drive not to be missed. What scenery…wow! I could just imagine what it would look like with a lot of snow. God’s country!
Each turn promised to be special and I actually filled one flash card today. We thought we would only go sofar and then return to our B&B. But the urge to just go around one more corner was incredible. We finally landed up at Flock Hill and I think that is only about 120kms or so from Christchurch! Had a great coffee there, chatted with a not so friendly bar person. No matter, we are on holidays! Photographed some of the interesting bits at this place and made our return journey. This time we took a deviation to Lake Brunner and took a gravel dirt road. Very different and managed to find, of course, much to photograph. Headed back to our B&B for a bit of a chill out at 4pm. Had arranged to have another evening meal in-house. It was lovely. Early to bed tonight….ie for Terry. I am trying to catch up on the blog that I could not upload last night and quickly find some teasing images for you.
Tomorrow we are heading down to Franz Josef and the Fox Glacier. Yes and the adventure continues.
I was wondering what happened to you, The south is is spectacular isn’t it. I loved Aurthurs pass too, You could spend days in it. sounds like you won’t want to come back. Hans
